Leading Textile Supplier Selects TouchStar’s TS8000 Handheld Computers

UK-based manufacturer of
rugged mobile computers, TouchStar Technologies, is pleased to announce that Primeur,
the UK’s largest supplier of doormats and soft furnishings, has selected TouchStar’s
TS8000 handheld mobile computers. The hardware implementation will support the
goods in and picking operations at Primeur’s Head Office in Bingley to provide
real time stock visibility and control.
Innovation
and product development have been key to Primeur’s business success and remains
at the heart of what they do today. In 2019 they celebrated the milestone of 50
years in business. In this time, they have worked with many of the UK's retail
groups and independents, supplying garden ranges and doormats.
With
over 50,000 sq. ft of warehousing within their head office in Bingley, West
Yorkshire, Primeur pride themselves on ensuring 100% stock availability and the
flexibility to react quickly to increases in demand. TouchStar’s TS8000 handheld has been selected as part
of a hardware upgrade which is set to support real time data capture in the
operation. The advanced scanning capability of the TS8000 will help identify
each unique product within the warehouse, providing accurate stock information
and visibility that will help support an efficient and flexible operation.
The
TS8000 provides the ideal hardware solution for Primeur’s
warehouse-based applications. The combination of high impact polycarbonate
plastics, metal alloy chassis and the use of Sorbothane® rubber shock absorbers
allow for an extremely reliable solution and prolonged life within robust
environments.
TouchStar’s Bradford
based rugged mobile computing division worked in partnership with Primeur throughout
the testing period, helping setup and configure the proposed devices. The localised
support was a key factor in the decision to select TouchStar. Tommy
